Here’s a peek inside Prince’s island getaway.
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning property in the Caribbean or a mansion with a purple driveway — or both — now’s your chance. The Prince Estate announced earlier today that the late musician’s private estate on Turks and Caicos is up for auction.
While Prince spent most of his time at his Paisley Park mansion in Minneapolis, he also owned this five-acre estate located on the south shore of Providenciales in Turks and Caicos.
The 10,000-square-foot house includes six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, and a customized purple driveway, but other than that don’t expect too many over-the-top tributes to the Purple One.
That’s not to say the property isn’t luxurious. In addition to panoramic ocean views everywhere you look, the estate also has a tennis court, two private beaches, and a 200-foot private dock.
Bids are currently only being accepted by paper and are due July 12, 2018. While there is no official starting bid, the property was on the market shortly after Prince’s death in 2016 for a reported $12 million.
“How do you value a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa?’’ Todd Wohl, founder of Premiere Estates Auction Company, said in a statement. “The value is ultimately determined by the market—with a unique property like Prince’s Turks and Caicos estate, we anticipate significant interest and multiple bidders.”
A $100,000 registration deposit is required to place a bid this time around, but if you don’t end up purchasing the property the deposit will be refunded.
